Goa has been known to be a party town, with beaches and lovely places to hang about and have fun. Goa has a classic small town feel, which says "susegad".
I had never been to Goa.Yes, almost everyone who’s lived in India has been to Goa at least once. Even my parents have been to Goa. But me, I have never been there.
And why so? Well I generally don’t like the sea. It makes the sand get in my shoes, it makes my jeans wet, and the salt water corrodes my cameras. I live in Bombay and I’ve seen the sea, it’s dirty, and you can’t walk on the beach. It’s so crowded that there is not a moment of peace.
Although hesitant, I finally did go to Goa for a friend’s wedding. I couldn’t say no. But Goa is totally not what I imagined it to be. The place is clean and green. It’s full of 100 year-old houses, beautiful churches, small restaurants with great seafood, and a mood of laziness which I’ve come to love.
One of the great things that happened was that we went in the summertime so it was off season. This pretty much made sure that we didn’t go with many tourists. The sun was nice and mild enough to shoot at 100 ISO slide with no harsh shadows.
