Why Diana Baby is *better* than Yashica MF2 ;)

There is, however, a scary story ;) behind this collection.

First I took my Yashica MF2 with me because I wanted to make some normal album this time (not a lo-fi one). The landscapes were great, the cloud formations were incredible and the weather was really good for photos: the Nieciecza village is located on plains. So the terrain (and the weather) is clearly visible for hundreds of kilometres. It gives a really interesting effect: it was a great and hot weather over me but there was still visible very dark sky over places where was rain. So imagine guys: very white clouds nearby on the background of almost black sky visible over distant villages. :)

So I was walking for over an hour, I made all the 36 shots and… the camera didn’t stop the film: it seemed like I was able to make new photos over and over again.
“Arrrrrgh” – I thought – “Something is REALLY WRONG then!!” And I was right, haha. The camera wasn’t scrolling/moving the film AT ALL!!!!!!!!!! So entire trip was for nothing!!! Aaaaaaaaah! Of course I wasn’t able to re-use the film because I wasn’t sure if it had been scrolled or not, so I had to rewind it before opening the camera: just in case it made the photos correctly.

And – as You can guess – while the rewinding (only several centimetres of course) – the film hid itself into the cassette, hehe. I was SO mad that I though I would destroy the camera. :) I didn’t know that the Yashica STILL moves the counter, even if the film itself isn’t moving! (It is impossible on my good humble Smena 8M, THAT is a GOOD Russian Lomo machine! :) ).

But finally I decided to not to waste the trip and at least I could make some lo-fi album, with my Diana Baby, instead. Which I made – and here it the result, haha. ;)

I have the same problem on both my octomats, I just can't get the film to feed at all.... :( Glad you got some good photos and some good feeling from the trip though!
