A bit of a tour down to Port Mellon and Howe Sound Pulp and Paper with the Hippie Holga loaded with redscale, a great film for a sunny day or two.

Determined to have my gallery open before the start of summer, I have been frantically printing and framing. Finally I have enough on the walls to host an Open House June 22. These shots are from May and June.

  • My Portfolio Circa 1994

    shared by alburnkat on 2013-02-27

Growing up I noticed I didn't have an aptitude in drawing, painting or other such art forms, but I felt I had a creativity in me. So in High School I tried photography, and fell in love, after graduation I continued my studies at the local Community College were I earned a Associates Degree. By the end of my studies I decided I like creating portraits and these are what where in my final portfolio at graduation. They are displayed in this Album in the order I photographed them. Enjoy.

My second year going to the FestiFools Parade in Downtown Ann Arbor. This time with The White Stripes or at least my Jack edition Holga and my Meg edition Diana+. Next time I take a Diana out with other cameras I'll have to restrain the Aperture and Shutter switches. Some of those where shot with Pinhole and Bulb. Opps.

  • Very Large Array

    shared by alburnkat on 2013-01-08

The VLA is astronomical observatory consisting of 27 large dish shaped antennas that are connected to work together as one very large radio telescope. The array is arranged on three arms shaped like a Y, each arm is 13 miles/21 km long. The Antenna can be repositioned along the arms using the specially designed Hein's Trein on the railroad tracks that form the Y-shape.

  • Sunflowers and...North Bay Park

    shared by alburnkat on 2013-03-14

I love my Sunflowers, I first shot this roll in September 2012 in my Diana+ Meg using the wide and close-up lenses. Then I ran it a second time in my Pentax SLR in February 2013. I'm happy with these results, but I think when I shoot the sunflowers I will grow this year I'll hold a large piece of black poster board behind them so the house's siding doesn't show.

  • North Bay Park on Ford Lake in Ypsilanti

    shared by alburnkat on 2013-03-13

I'm never too sure about my Sprocket Rocket, this batch of expired film and non sunny days, so to make sure that I got something on this roll I set the shutter on Bulb for about half of it, and of course those ones are very overexpose. Kinda neat though. North Bay Park is on the northwest end of Ford Lake, another man made lake created by a dam on the Huron River just like Belleville Lake. This park is a nice place to go for a walk, there is a boardwalk, a series of small islands linked by bridges and an observation deck. Even though it's closed for winter, I've run into other people every time I visited. All where surprised I was shooting film.

Before we walked to downtown Belleville to another Cruisin' on the Bayou Car Show, I fogged this roll with a lazer pointer. I'm really happy how the ones on the lake came out. The red from the lazer really intensified the colors of the setting sun. Now made into Little Planets.
