Horizon kompakt at work

For my friends birthday I wanted to give her a very special present. A horizon view of our city, shot by me. I asked Mephisto if I could borrow his Horizon kompakt to take some pictures... what a choice that was!!!

My first film was a b/w film, just to test it. I took some pictures around the city and the day after I brought it to work. My colleagues were very curious and found me a bit strange, an analogue camera, looking so old fashioned. Must be like 30years old?!?
For fun I just took some pictures of them in the lab:

After seeing these pictures they were very very enthusiastic and they all loved the double exposure

They wanted a great one with all of us to print it out and hang it on the wall at work. So I had to bring it once more.

The only little problem is the exposure time. Because it is inside there is not enough light. So I need the ‘night’ settings of the horizon, but the one who is holding the camera is not aloud to move… quite difficult of course. The ‘day’ setting is also possible, I used for the b/w ones, but had to give it a little more light in ‘photoshop’, otherwise it was way to dark.

So last Tuesday I brought it with me to work again, but this time I had a colorfilm inside it. We had lots of fun making the photo’s, but unfortunately they came out to dark, and adding some light afterwards did not help because it was colorfilm.

They still want to give it a try, next Tuesday it will be the third time, and like we say in Dutch :
“3 keer is scheepsrecht” (I believe it’s in English: three time’s the charm)

Perhaps someone of you can give me advice about the lighting?
Thanks for reading ;)

maybe you could try taking a tripod =) and a cable release? that way you can set it on a tripod and with the cable release get everyone in the frame even yourself using the night mode =)

you could use 800 iso film or you could get a roll of 400 iso pushed by your lab!
