These koi were photographed with my Fuji Instax Mini 7s at the Ala Moana mall in Honolulu, Hawaii. That is on the island of Oahu, if you didn't know. :3 I used the Fuji Instax Mini film rather than the Polaroid 300 version; same thing though.

Quite pleased with this 1961 camera...it's definitely held up over time! Favourite shots: The detail on these trees really popped with this film and vintage camera. Affectionately known as the pineapple trees now, thanks to the lomo community.

encouraged by the results of the previous roll and by the fact that the fog is still there, I loaded my Minolta 24 Rapid again with the Solaris 100, I decided to use an aperture to f8 and an exposure time of 10 seconds (approx.) obviously with this setting it's impossible to think to take sharp images by free hands so I used a tripod.

This was taken during one lunch break (I have to get out of here that day or I would go insane). Just a couple of miles from my office. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves that we don’t have to look far to see God’s handiwork. Hope you enjoy.

Imperfect Solitude Series is my latest exploits in black and white, self-developed, using Holga Wide Angle Pinhole camera. I don’t usually do landscape because there are so much images out there that are far superior. And I’m always thinking, what am I trying to convey here? It does not come easy. I’m more into abstraction than realism. The first was taken one morning at the cafeteria. It’s more of a still life than landscape but I was enjoying my quiet time in solitude and I saw the tree silhouette outside. I guess I can pass it as landscape.

  • The Sea Salt Experience

    shared by vicuna on 2010-09-07

I used this film with my fisheye with submarine case. Unfortunately, my submarine had some water leaks and the salted seawater came inside the camera and the film... When I gave it to my usual lab, they told me they couldn't process it as the film was wet... :( So I waited for a solution and let the film like that, unprocessed, in my room. After a month, I noticed that some strange signs of corrosion were to seen on the film canister, and thought that perhaps there was something interesting happening inside! But how could I process it??? And there I thought that this could interest Mr LabRat himself: Mandi! I wrote him and asked if he could process the film for me. And finally, almost 3 months after being shot, after a long maturation time and some special treatment to dry and process it, the pictures are here! Thanks a lot Mandi! ;)

These are from an old roll of Fujichrome Velvia which was loaded into Canon Sureshot years ago. A holiday trip brought out the camera last year and the film went in with a number of rolls of C-41. No one (not myself or at the lab) noticed and it got mistakenly cross processed. The resulting shots are wonderfully garrish.

I shot this sensia on a one of those early sunny days this spring... somehow the roll just didn't seem to end, I got suspicious and rewinded but it only took like 2 sec so I feared the film wasn't running thru the camera at all and opened in complete sunlight - but the film was disrupted so I had it processed anyway. I'm so happy the lab did that!! :)
