it takes a shitload of luck to catch a lightning like that!! often tried, always failed...

Did you just hold the shutter open on B mode until the lightning struck?

@pulex indeed it does take a shitload of luck keep on trying!
@gnarlyleech ya i set it to bulb switched the shutter to cloudy and just held it open until it struck

thanks everyone! i set the tripod up in a dark room left the shutter open and hoped for the best :)
