My guide told me i got to got to a public bath in Seoul, otherwise you haven´t really been to Korea. The other thing they mentioned was eating kimchi, but this will be another story, because i worry about your stomach. As every Korean from young to old is taking public bath in jakuzas, spas and saunas and so on, there are consequently a lot of them. I chose the one that suited me best: in the former world cup stadium! One must say Koreans are very pragmatic i fit comes to the usage of their former worldcup sites from 2002. Hence Football is still not so very good developed as in Europe they thought of a better plan to use the facility in the meantime. There is a huge Shoppingmall within the stadium, so in comparison to a normal stadium it is not only crowded on gameday, but on every day! It is really convinient to reach by tube and quite an easy ride. In one of the corners of the footballtemple is „spoland“, the fitness- and spaparadiese. Everything is very tidy there and at the entrance are several lockers for your shoes and othere stuff. Sexes are seperate so you will be guided in your changing rooms. There you strip naked, as far as i understood it. You don´t have to take towels, they will be supplied to you everywhere. You also get an orange „suit“ a shirt and shorts, but stay naked!
We went into the bath and saw the multitude of naked Korean men taking showers, going to saunas and jump into very hot bath and cold ones. Nobody is putting anything in front of his balls, which yet used to. It is quite a family thing. So older lads and mini koreans are there all the same. You have to get used to the pictures but it is quite fun. And of course you are the monkey to be watched, since you look different to the others.
