  I'm guessing this is a new year celebration! there is confeti everywhere and people are wearing party hats. this is the 1940s. This is the american chinese club of hawaii (their ribbons say "ACC") and my grandpa is the one in the middle of the picture, with the polka dot bowtie (to the left of the tall caucasian man). my grandma is to the left of him in the dark dress with the squares. i like to look at this picture and find little details- the lady in the foreground has her slip showing... they are drinking "OK Cola"... they are using silverware for the poi (?) but are eating from paper bowls... one of my favorite pictures (almost was thrown away!) and i keep it on my sidetable by my bed. no, i don't think it's reminiscent of "the shining".

  On March 19, I took this photograph of the Latham Water Tower as construction workers were tearing the structure down. My Ansco Cadet produced a light leak on the film; you can actually see that this was the 9th picture on the roll because of the light leak.
