  • The Northern Lights From Montreal.

    shared by lacon on 2010-03-11

I took this photos with a 7 dollar President's Choice disposable camera when I was in Montreal a few weeks ago. (I have a digital Nikon but I had forgotten it at home so I bought two disposables.) It's weird because when I had them developed and I looked at this photo I thought that it somehow reminded me of the Northern Lights. I've been looking into buying a film camera but at the moment I don't have the moula for it. So that being said, this is the only possible submission I could make. I hope you can see what I see in it. I just came home from seeing the movie at the Mayfair. I didn't think I could appreciate Jack and Meg White anymore than I already did. The last scene killed me. Genuine and beautiful.

"Volume" was an interactive installation of light and sound held at the V+A, an array of light columns positioned in the gardens, it responded to human movement and so one felt compelled to walk amongst the lights. Some people tho were happy to sit back and watch it like an orchestra. It was a collaboration between UVA and Robert del Naja(massive attack)+neil Davidge.
