I took a roll of Lomo redscale iso 50-200 medium format film on vacation with me and it combined with my Lubitel to amaze me.
My previous experience with redscale film was O.K., nothing special or anything to write home about. I was experimenting with my Diana and it was my first go with medium format film.
I brought my last roll of redscale with me on vacation after being inspired by lomographer suizidekid’s use of redscale and decided to use it to capture the sunset while the sun was low in the sky and I could hide it behind things like trees and beach cabanas or just let it shine in all its glory. I loaded it into my Lubitel 166+ and my wife and I went for a walk.
On our walk, we found a lifeguard’s chair and I seem the photo I wanted. I made my wife climb up there and just enjoy the sunset while I snapped a few pics.
When I got the pictures back I fell in love with them right away. The silhouettes and the beautiful colours which kinda fake an even more beautiful sunset. I couldn’t believe my eyes and am very happy with the results. It made me even more happy that I orchestrated them to some extent and I think I got somewhat lucky because they turned out better than I could have hoped but I still visualized what kind of photos I wanted and through the tools I used, I made them happen. It was a big step for me. I hope you enjoyed the pics as much as I did.
