A first draft of an anamorphic camera

So I made these anamorphic one-off camera’s, consisting of a plastic film can with a pinhole in the lid and a piece of 35mm film inside. The result was pretty cool.

But then I got thinking about a version that would be useful to people who don’t do their own developing. A version that didn’t have tiny loose bits of film, but an entire roll. So this is what I came up with:

- A film can with a big hole cut out, to act as a guide for the film.

- Then, curl the film around this, and attach to an empty roll.

Cover it all up in cardboard and tape, add a tape shutter and start shooting.

I already made this, and shot an entire roll, but I haven’t gotten around developing it. Still, I wanted to share this design with you before Pinhole Day next sunday. ;D
