  • Gunung Mahameru the Great Mountain

    Gunung Mahameru the Great Mountain
Once an active volcano in Indonesia, Semeru is an integral part of the volcanic belt of Asia called, the "Pacific Ring of Fire". It is located in East Java and is 3,676 metres high. This "stratovolcano" is also known as Gunung Mahameru (the Great Mountain) due to its supreme attributes. In fact, Mahameru actually refers to the Hindu god Siwa in local dialects. Siwa the Destroyer (Dewa Pemusnah) is the most powerful one, hence, it comes to no surprise that Mount Semeru is named after this forceful deity.
  • Chasing the Sun at Dieng Plateau

Chasing the Sun at Dieng Plateau
The Dieng Plateau is a caldera complex formed after an eruption of Mt. Prau. The caldera was once full of water which then dried up. However, volcanic activity continues to this day as you can find sulfuric fumes and poisonous lakes in the area. Located at an altitude of 2000m, the temperature here is also much cooler compared to the surrounding lowlands. The ancient Javanese Hindus built temples here and hailed Dieng Plateau as a sacred place.

    Kodak HIE Infrared (35mm, 25 iso) User-Review
The Kodak HIE Black and White Infrared Film is very nice. I've shot one roll of this film and it was fun! The infrared effect is really neat. The sky will darken with a little bit of haze but it didn't go black completely. Grass, leaves, and foliage turns white. Light skinned people are ghost white- very eerie indeed!

  • Olympus XA-2 The Street Shooter

    Olympus XA-2 The Street Shooter
The XA-2 is a very compact 35mm camera capable of producing high-quality photographs. It features a timer, focus control, and manual ASA settings. Optional accessories include a flash, tripod, and case. It was made during the 1980s. I bought this cute, unloved camera secondhand in the flea market before I knew the difference between an XA and an XA-2. It still turned out to be a competent zone focusing snapshot camera. I carried it in my glove box for several years where it earned some cosmetic scratches to it's revolutionary camshell case but in all that time of extreme temperatures and constant jostling as my car camera it never failed me.
