Can you help sorting out which Lomography films can still be available and the ones that we lost forever?
Lomography B&W 100, 120 – Discontinued
I don’t think this film is the same as the Lomography Earl Gray 100 (and BTW, Earl Gray 120 is a limited edition!), although I’ve only tried the last in the 35mm version. This B&W 100 120 film was available a few years ago and I don’t think it is available anymore.
Lomography X-Pro Slide 100
I also don’t think this is the late Chrome edition. I got it a few years ago, I’m not even sure how. It was a single pack and I think it probably came in those fabulous mixed brand slide bundles Lomography online had in the past. I’m not a film expert at all. Do you think this is the same as the Chrome?
Lomography Redscale 100
I still have a pack of the 120 version of this film and it is still available online but the 35mm version is long gone from Lomography online shop. I’m not sure it is still in production but I’m guessing it is discontinued.
Lomography Redscale XR
As the Redscale 100, the 120 version of this film is still available online, but the 35mm is out of stock for months now. I’ve already lost my hopes to see it available again. It was a cool film.
Lomography X Tungsten – Limited Edition
This was always presented as a limited edition so I got my hands on a pack of it as soon as I could. With this one I guess there is no doubt: discontinued.
Lomography X-Pro Chrome 100
The X-Pro Chrome discontinuation was also announced and I wish Lomography would do this always. I liked it much better than the 200 X-Pro. Another loss for the Lomography films family.
Lomography CN 800
I’m guessing this one is still in production but it has been a while the 35mm version is not available online… what do you know about the situation of this one?
Lomography Sunset Strip
Was this ever announced as very limited edition? I could never put my hand on this one. It was available online only for a few weeks and it was never available on my city’s Embassy. I got convinced there was just a little stock of it and it has been unavailable for so long now that I considered it lost.
So, imagine my surprise when I found out it is still available on other online shops!! Why is Lomography keeping this film away from me?! :’(
[Photo:NO PHOTO]
I really wish Lomography could update us on Lomography film status and mark the ones that are discontinued on the online shops. But while they don’t make something about it, we the community can give our best try. What do you know about these films status? Please, share your information with us! ;)

I assume that the Lomo 120 100 B&W is discontinued as I have been told from several sources. It was a film similar to or relabeled GP3. I saw at an online shop that the Earl Gray version of 120 will soon be available. As for the others, I would be interested to learn more also.

@neanderthalis: Thanks for reading and sharing your info! My main goal here is to know if they are still available or not but I also love to know when they are similar/relabeled to other films, didn't know about the B&W 100 and GP3! About the Earl Grey 120, it is available online (PT) but I never gave it a try. Lomo on! :))
kleinerkaries
where exactly did lomography anounce that xpro chrome is discontinued? this goes for the other discontinued films as well. i never ever saw official lomography information about it on this page.

I think the Lomo online stores availability is different too. The USA Online store has Sunset Strip, Xpro Chrome and Tungsten XPRO available right now, but we do not have the Earl Grey 120.

@kleinerkaries: I'm not sure they announced here online, I mean, I don't know if it was official (but ppl were talking about it here), but they told me at my city's Embassy.
@neanderthalis: Exactly, that's what I found out yesterday, I was chocked! I also wrote this to be sure it is true... sad, but true. No Earl Grey 120 for Americans and no Sunset Strip to Portuguese?! :(

@kleinerkaries, @neanderthalis: Here you can read about the Tungsten limited edition and, big surprise, the also limited Earl Grey 110, 120: http://www.lomograph(…)ngsten-film.
Thanks a lot for reading and comment, I'm already finding out new things, going to update the film status!

Make your own redscale film that solves the redscale availability issue, Tungsten X can quite easily be duplicated using xpro a roll of sensia (i know its not the same) as the emulsion has a strong green cast giving a pinky light purple tint. i believe the chrome is still widely available as its the must popular one. And use fujipro and kodak films to replace the c41 lomo films. job done :)

@chilledvondub: Hmmmm... I don't find the Sensia 100 and the Tungsten similar and I wonder what ISO should I redscale to get the same results I love in Redscale XR (maybe 800?)... but thanks for the tip! The Chrome isn't widely available at all, in my city's Embassy they sold me one the girl was keeping like they were selling me contraband tobacco! ;) And there is something also important for me with Lomography films, specially CN on PT online shop... they are cheaper than any others I can find!
The thing is that I found out the availability of films vary a lot, depending in the country where you are!
kleinerkaries
@chillevondub nope, no lomo xpro chrome in europe anymore. and the last packet i got from lomography last month was already rebought from urban outfitters and already expires in spring next year.
chilledvondub
@saidseni i can assure you xpro sensia and tungsten are similar i had the misfortune of shooting 20 rolls of it such an awful film.
reverse a 400ISO film and rate at 50ISO or reverse at 800ISO and rate at 200ISO for best results :)
obviously 400 is alot easier to find so id go with that if i were you.
google product search Lomography Xpro 100 chrome you can purchase the film from 39 online stores ;) you're welcome

@chillevondub aaah! thanks. not that i needed any more of it. i just wished, lomography would be a little more open about what films are continued or discontinued and not just leave it to the customers wondering why the shelves in the embassy stores and in the online shop have been empty for months now.

@chilledvondub: Normally it's very expensive to order from those sites to Portugal and sometimes they don't even ship it here. But thanks anyway and thanks for the redscale tip! About the Sensia, didn't shoot at all as many as you did and I don't know much about films but my experience was different.
One example of my experience (and I can't change settings with this camera): Tungsten and Horizon Kompakt: http://www.lomograph(…)os/14815080
Sensia 100 and Horizon Kompakt: http://www.lomograph(…)os/16753840
Lomo on! :)

Yup, I feel exactly as @kleinerkaries. It's not that I need more of them (I like the CN Lomography films better than the slide ones), I just want to know if they are discontinued or they will be available again! :)
chilledvondub
@kleinerkaries i've only used xpro chrome a couple of times so i wouldn't really lose sleep over it if it disappeared off the map. Although Kodak EBX is a killer film and i've seen several posts and rumours that xpro chrome is just kodak ebx rebranded or the closest thing to it. Lomography products cameras and film are hideously expensive in the UK so i steer clear of it. We have a lovely shop called 7dayshop.com based in guernsey so its duty free and the postage is free to the mainland i believe they post internationally may be worth giving that a look? They sell premium brand films such as Fuji: pro via, sensia, fujipro, neopan, velvia, reala and superia - Kodak: ektar, ektarchrome, gold, , portra, tmax, tri-x and vision. ilford: delta, fp4, hp5, pane, sfx and xp2. All at the lowest rates pretty much :)

@saidseni sensia is also quite purplish like tungsten. but you can also have results like this, which i really did not expect http://www.lomograph(…)-sensia-100

As a alternative to redscale you may want to check the Rollei/AGFA Nightbird 800
marcus_loves_film
Hello all! Lomo Xpro Chrome 100 35mm has gone through several reincarnations over the years meaning it has been made by different manufactures (e.g. Ferrania, Agfa, Kodak). According to my research and testing the most recent version of Xpro Chome 100 was rebranded Kodak Elitechrome 100 EB. I have shot both films and compared the negatives side by side to assess base color, edge marking, and barcode numbers; my conclusion is that Elitechrome EB 100 and Xpro Chrome 100 were nearly identical. Elitechrome EBX 100 (Extra Colro) has more saturation that EB 100 and was not likely Xpro Chrome 100.
As you many know Kodak announced earlier in 2012 that they were discontinuing all E-6 slide film. Therefore, Lomo Xpro Chrome 100 was affected by this action and is the likely reason it is no longer available. You still may be able to find Elitechrome EB 100 on other online shops while stocks last.

@af-capture i second that nightbird is a nice film you can get it in 127 format too! which is excellent

@kleinerkaries: I know about the Sensia, got one of your pictures on my Sensia Lovers collection! :) The thing is... I never got strong purple with Tungsten. But didn't try much either.
@marcus_loves_film: Thanks for confirming, I was almost sure about that! ;)
@af-capture: Yup, got the Nightbird on 120 version but I'm saving it for some special occasion... :) I wish I had it on 35mm too and also the Redbird...
Thanks for reading and commenting, people!
marcus_loves_film
@saidseni @kleinerkaries @chilledvondub @kleinerkaries etc. If someone can tell me what the barcode number is on the 35mm Sunset Strip, Tungsten-X, and other lomo CN films I may be able to cross reference them to their manufactures! The barcode number is 6 digits and located underneath the barcode lines on the film canister. From there I can scour the manufactures' websites to see if those products were discontinued or not. Hopefully this can answer more of our questions about product availability.
kleinerkaries
sunset strip does not have a barcode. for cn800 it's 014064, redscale xr 013994.

@chilledvondub ...personally i have not used this film (nightbird 800) ...but I have seen some nice results....super red at low iso....i like it!!!...thanks
lokified
I've heard the Lomo XPro Slide 200 is rebranded Rollei Crossbird, but I've not gotten my hands on the latter to compare. I'll miss XPro Chrome and CN 800.
marcus_loves_film
@kleinerkaries Thanks for the numbers! I have confirmed that the CN800 appears to be made by Ferrania (Italy) and Redscale XR 50-200 appears to be Ferrania Color FG Plus 400 film rebranded.
A quick google news search revealed that there is a labor dispute at the Ferrania company: http://www.ivg.it/20(…)vo-vertice/
I don't know what this means for availabilty of Ferrania films but it can't be good.
desibel
Thanks @marcus_loves_film! :)
lichtschilder
i have heard that Ferrania is out of business.. :(

@marcus_loves_film: Wow, thanks a lot! I didn't know we could do that, that's PRECIOUS information! I'm sorry I've been a bit busy to reply here but I'm going to check those numbers on films boxes.
@lokified: I've tried the Crossbird once and I don't think it is the same as the X-pro 200 but as I've said, I'm not an expert at all... maybe we can clear that out with @marcus_loves_film method!
BTW, Lomo CN 800 are back in stock in PT online shop but it says 10 units available, so... :/ This weekend I've been on my city's embassy and they also don't understand if the Sunset Strip will ever be available but they advise me to write LSI about it... and tell the embassy what was the reply! :)
Thanks everyone for reading and comment! This is why I LOVE our community! :*

So... I have this weird thing of collecting film canisters (only one of each type). I never knew why. But for the first time, it is helpful! Unfortunately and I don't know why, I don't have a x-pro 200 to find out if it is Crossbird, @lokified... :(
@marcus_loves_film: Here are the numbers: Xpro Chrome: 20847; Tungsten: 805144; Lady Grey: 010764; Earl Grey: 013954; CN 100: 013954. :)
marcus_loves_film
@saidseni
1) Xpro Chrome 100 = Kodak Elitechrome 100 ED (discontinued)
2) Lomo Tungsten X = Fuji RTP T64 (bar codes don't match but I'm fairly certain it's made by Fuji. RTP was discontinued a few years ago and it's rumored that Lomo Tungsten X was sourced from a expired master roll or RTP.
3) Lomo CN 100 = Ferrania Imaging Color FG Plus 100
4) Lady Grey = ? rumored to be Kodak T-Max 400 but I can't verify that claim
4) Earl Grey = ? not sure
5) Lomo Xpro 200 = Rollei Crossbird 200 a.k.a. the Agfa RSX-II 200 emulsion. This claim has been widely discussed on the net. The availability of this emulsion appears to be excellent!
There is a neat tool called the DXn Simulator which simulated the barcodes on film. http://www.imageairc(…)m.au/DXsim/ You can use it to look up barcodes for various film. Note that this database is not complete. This is where I get some of my information, the rest comes from an extensive horde of film:) I will have to post pics of my HUGE collection of film canisters, boxes, and packaging:))))
saidseni
Lomo Xpro 200 = Rollei Crossbird 200. Fortunately I didn't bet on this one...! ;) @marcus_loves_film: Thanks for the link, it does not let me insert a new code but I'll give it a try later, maybe it's the browser... I already envy your "extensive horde of film"! :P
saidseni
...and suddenly, there are 2 units of the Sunset Strip on the PT shop (one now, 'cause the other is coming this way!)!! LSI, you are the greatest! :*
