"Only In Solitude, Do We Find Ourselves". This was the name of a Lomography's Rumble. The sentence has stuck in my mind and the thing with me is: most of my best pictures were taken in those moments when I wander alone.
I like to walk. I like to be by myself. I love Lisbon. And I like to take pictures, of course.
Sometimes I get out of the house with a camera to take a picture of something that I saw when I was on the bus or when I didn’t (I break the rules sometimes…;)) had a camera with me. I don’t know many people that cross a city just for a picture. So, I usually go by myself.
Sometimes I complain about not having company to make this “crazy” walks. But the last times I did it, I understood that I like it. It’s not about the results, it’s the feeling.
And the very last time, I notice it usually ends with good results (in my opinion, of course! ;)).
When a child, I always got entertained by myself. I used to spend so much time playing with my bears, quietly in the bedroom, that my mother used to check if I didn’t leave the house without her notice. :)
Still today, I like to do things by myself. Even if I sometimes complain! ;)
P.S.-Some of you may have also noticed it, wandering around town, taking pictures with a lomo-camera is a great way of meeting new people! :)
