An Analogue Affair: why I love analogue photography.

Answering this question is simple and I keep it simple:

Analogue photography is my anchor to a fast moving digital world.

It truly calms me down.

Film photography makes the best memories. And it is a connection to my childhood.

Besides, the old vintage cameras that are still working are the best looking accessories you can own.

It’s my growing passion and gives me a variety of possibilities.

It units people of all ages, ethics, gender and that’s a great cause, if not the best.

And needless to say so, the analogue photography people worldwide are the most likable ones among all photographers.

Short, sweet and to the point, and I agree with all of it. I tend to be a very nostalgic person and I think as you do that film photography calms me down and takes me back to simpler times, like childhood and even college, right before the huge digital boom. Some people think I'm nuts for still using film, but it brings a challenge all its own, and I LOVE it.

@hqreul I totally agree to your point - a challenge on its own! :) I think the ones that have never (!) shot analogue but discounted it as something weird or not latest are only judgmental. Without trying you'll never know why, so I don't give a damn about other people's thoughts concerning film photography. I do digital photography sometimes as well. We can have both. The worst part about all this: why the fight? I know people owning an expensive whatever slr but don't know how to use it, they even don't want to know how to use it. Owning an expensive camera doesn't make you a photographer, it only makes you the owner of an expensive camera.
