Jakarta on January 2013

Welcome 2013,

January 2013 probably its a bad new start for Indonesian, especially for those who lived in Jakarta, Indonesia Capital.
For more than 4 days 65% of Jakarta area are flooded due to bad river system. Jakarta drainage system is the remnant from Dutch colonial, and until today there is no upgrade on this system, its resulted almost every 5 years jakarta will drowned.

Many things happen during this period, many Jakarta citizen must living in the emergency shelter and live for days from solidarity. At least, i am still could see some solidarity still exist in this bloody individual and capitalistic city. Fire in the resident area also happen, when the electricity connection is broken due the flood.

But what make me proud is the solidarity is emerge from the peoples not from the government. Many news are covering the heroic act of citizen that are saving and helping distributing food, medicine and diary to others peoples. While the govt is busy to preparing the up coming UN High Level Meeting Post 2015 Development Goals, in Bali, such an ironic state.
