"the forestry department lie to us, they said that will profit sharing from our work on the lands, but this already more than 3 years we didnt received anything from them, on the contrary when we would like to harvest what we already plant and grown they will arrest us, they said we are criminals"- peasant from Indramayu, West Java, Indonesia (24/9)
24th September is Indonesian Peasant Day. On this day peasant movement from every corner of Indonesia mobilized them self into mass protest against Land Monopoly and Land Grabbing.
In daily they are faced many violence, starting from arrested, kidnap, forced eviction, murder. Their very basic and democratic rights has been violated by many actors started from local land lord, military, police, and state that every person Indonesia already know they are doing that to secure lands consolidation for foreign capitals for plantation, industrial complex, mining, and conservation area.
