I've just lost my LOMO virginity by having my first ever x-pro film developed. Should I kiss and tell?

When I started here on Lomography I had no idea what cross processing was. At the time I had been shooting only Polaroid. I even had to ask someone if you get slides back or negatives — I was that confused. That was just a few months ago.

I don’t know many photo labs where I live. Most seem to have died out like the dinosaurs. This left me with only my local drug store hour lab. As such I worried that they would refuse to cross process any film for me. None the less I gave in and bought a box of the Lomography X-Pro 200.

I noticed on the box there was this really small printing saying it was for “E6 or C-41”. This is when I thought to myself, “Rav, old bunny, this is the ticket! People want to follow rules.” So I saved the box in my camera bag in case I’d ever need it.

After shooting the film I went to my local Long’s drug store and what happened first? Every nightmare came true. The lady looked at the brightly labeled Lomography roll and the words “slide” was instantly her red light. Quickly I pulled out the box and pointed to the line about being processed in either chemistry. I sort lied like a very good pooka. “This is crazy film.” I told her. “See it is made to be processed either way.” She bought it and took the film! YES!

I was totally stressed! So I went to get lunch for the hour it takes to process the film. After the hour was up I went back to get the film. Nervous I asked, “So did my crazy film come out wonky?” The lady lit up and said, “They came out /really/ good!”

I guess the moral of my story is to save the box and lie if you have too! LOL
