Dream Diary: Moving Statues

I dreamt that I went to a photowalk with some friends. We headed to the post office building, which was already abandoned. Inside the building, several statues of Greek figures and angels (I think my brain conjured this image because the Manila Central Post Office was designed in neoclassical style) lined the hallway. As we proceeded, I started taking photos with my film cameras, and taking videos using a digital camera. For a split-second, I captured one of the statues moving slightly, as if turning to see who were the visitors.

I shuddered and remained frozen for a while, gazing intently at the statue some meters ahead to see if it will move again. It did—he turned to look at his right, then went back to his original pose. I freaked out, ran to the nearest person and showed him the video. We were both stunned!

Soon, everyone started noticing the subtle movements of the statues. We were freaked out, but surprisingly, none of us went running out of the post office!

Funny fact... there used to be a scultpure style in art called 'Hyperrealism'. The artists made extremely naturally looking figures. Like a woman sitting on the floor cleaning it etc. Those figures really look like people. And when those hyperrealists had their first exhibition, a man with a newspaper leaned on the wall, frozen in his position, and when a group of people were around, he suddenly started to move and people freaked out! They ran through all rooms, checking if the sculptures were alive or not. They couldn't differ reality and art anymore! That's what came to my mind, reading your dream! :D

I love this idea so much... trying to differ reality and dream or fiction and dream. :)
