That time, I only had time to shoot during breaks and after work, so all I could take pictures of were buildings and establishments. Lighting was a concern since I was afraid that the sun’s rays were not bright enough by late afternoons. Nevertheless, I got surprisingly dreamy silhouettes and soft photos!
I also wasn’t sure that I could already manage proper focusing with my Holga, especially for tricky ones like a building’s facade (set to infinity or not?), portraits, or a foot shot. I was finally able to take properly focused photos that day, and by luck, using slide films!
One weekend, seizing the chance to finish the roll while the sun was still high and bright, I climbed on the roof of our house to take some unobstructed shots of the towering condo a few blocks away. I was delighted to see a beautiful lens flare in one of the photos! Definitely my first “best” shot, ever.
