belair - the first shots (58mm lens, 6x12)
unfortunately the conditions (light) were really bad so the shots didn´t turn out that well. and i made a few mistakes while shooting. need to get to know the camera better: mainly framing! anyway my first impression is very good. AND: THIS CAMERA IS AN EYE-CATCHER! i had it around my neck while strolling and everyone was looking at the camera. got asked about it two times while walking around.

@grazie: thanks! but i´m really looking forward to the next sunny day. i guess it´s easier to judge then. but the handling is great. i already like it even though my first results do not convince me but i think i know the circumstances and therefore i think i´ll have a lot of fun with the camera.

Wow ... ist die Belair also schon ausgeliefert. "Ja is den scho Weihnachten ?", würde der Beckenbauer sagen ;-)) Hab lange überlegt, ob ich mir so ein Teil vorbestellen soll aber zwei Dinge haben mich hinterher abgeschreckt: 1. hat das Ding nur zwei Blenden ( und damit erübrigt sich eigentlich die Belichtungsautomatik ) und ist ziemlich lichtschwach und 2. muss man die Entfernungen abschätzen. Letzteres ist angesichts der eingebauten Blenden nicht mehr so schwierig aber man hätte bei dem Preis durchaus einen Rangefinder und größere Blenden erwarten können. So braucht man kein teures Medium-Format und könnte die gleichen Bilder auf billigerem 35 mm Film machen. 6x6-6x12 spielt seine Stärken eigentlich erst bei größeren Blenden aus.
Da kann ich dann bei meiner alten Zeiss Super Ikonta bleiben oder für die, die keine besitzen und nicht so viel Geld ausgeben wollen, tut's ne Moskva Kopie auch. Diese sind bei E-Bay oft komplett restauriert und billiger als die Belair zu haben. Schade eigentlich.

@berndtotto ich hätte sicherlich auch noch mit dem kauf gewartet, aber ich hatte doch einige piggies und 30% off haben mich dann überzeugt. na ja, es war nicht nur der preis sondern ich fand eine mittelformat mit automatischer belichtungszeit doch sehr attraktiv. und da ich fast ja zu 80% mittelformat mache ist das glaube ich eine gute sache für mich. heute war allerdings kein schöner tag um damit loszugehen und bilder zu machen. ich denke dass da sicherlich noch was an equipment hinzukommen wird und damit vielleicht auch die möglichkeit der erweiterten anzahl von blenden. das handling ist ziemlich gut wie ich finde.

Tricky film for test shots. When mine arrives I'll try it with something with a wider margin for error, perhaps a Black and White or quality colour negative. Some of these are great shots though. What's the packaging like?

PS: What's tricky about framing a shot? I had wondered how they would deal with the viewfinder and the multiple sizes.

@adam_g2000 to be honest i thought this film is a good choice to test under these conditions. well, i had no better in the fridge ;) well, i had b/w but i can´t develop myself and did want to get it back immediately so i chose the provia i already have experience with.
about framing: the problem is to get to know the viewer. you have different marks there for 6x6 and 6x9 and the full viewer for 6x12. as i shot 6x6 it took some time to get done good. - the marks a above and below but not in the viewer itself so it´s more about approaching the marks than actually knowing what you shot.

@adam_g2000 i was told before that the camera will arrive without packaging. i´ll get one later on - hopefully. so there is really nothing but the cam and the lenses and the viewers. no manual or so. my impression is pretty good and the handling of the cam is great. so i think i will have a lot of fun with this cam. will shot another roll these days.

@zonderbar stimmt! das ging leider völlig unter, weil ich da im büro war und die online oberfläche ein attachement an einer unmöglichen stelle anzeigt. jetzt eben erst habe ich das gesehen. aber die anleitung brauchte ich nicht wirklich. danke für die aufllärung.

@blueskyandhardrock i knew it and i it was me who accepted. it´s just because it´s the first batch and it came before the announced delivery date. i could have said NO what i actually did but i changed my mind because i didn´t want to wait ;o)

@blueskyandhardrock i´m pretty sure you will. my cam is a regular pre-order. no connections or whatever so i got it earlier. there is another user from germany who got his already. but what they told in the articles was that the delivery date depends on where you live. so probably other countries get them later.

@kleeblatt ja, hatte ich. allerdings stelle ich eben fest, dass das ein provia 100F war und da auch die ISO auf 100 eingestellt war. die 6x12 sind mit dem 100er gemacht.
ja, ich habe eben festgestellt, dass ich einer derjenigen bin, die die kamera als allererstes bekommen haben. ich wusste nichts davon, dass ich botschafter bin: http://www.lomograph(…)iden-voyage
