A new camera to join the growing collection: the Supersampler! First impressions.

Since I got on this site and laid my eyes for the first time on a photo taken by the Supersampler, from that moment on I wanted to get one. The rubberized blue one. I don’t know, something about the composition of the 4 stripes of wildly cropped images, the movement it can capture and on the one hand and the unchanging repetition on the other hand – it just got me.

And finally, I ordered one! And it got here! And now I have the first roll all developed and scanned… Yes.
Well, it is a first roll, most of it is shy, uncertain probes with a new creature… But I can see that it is a beginning of a long and strong friendship.

I was amazed at first at how crappy this camera feels… super light, all quite fragile-feeling, making alarming noises… if I held it tight while shooting, the winding mechanism will get stuck after 2 clicks… I was not sure about the whole thing… But after seeing the result of the first roll, I am convinced. This is another one of those artistic, poetic souls, trapped in a cheap plastic body…
