You might not know it but being a naked camera sucks (bad)!

Ever since I bought my first Holga, I’ve always been searching for new ideas and materials to ‘dress up’ the plain looking plastic camera. Don’t get me wrong. I love the camera to bits but I just feel that it looks too boring … naked.

So whenever ideas come to mind (and time permits), I’l sit down for hours (sometimes a few hours for a few days) to work on ‘dressing up’ my cameras.

The Lego-ed Holga was the toughest one to work on because of the rigid material (Lego blocks). I had to also make sure everything like the shutter button, viewfinder etc are still functioning.

Everyone should try ‘dressing up’ some (or all) of their cameras sometimes. It is not only fun (doing it) but at the end of the day … you get something that is a one of a kind! Awesome!

Always try out the glue you are using on a small part of the camera (preferably the bottom) to see if it works on the camera. Not all glue work well on plastic cameras.

If you are using flexible adhesive materials, try to have a hair dryer around. Heating up the material helps soften the materials and this makes sticking around corners way easier.

Sometimes my mind goes all crazy and the results might seem bizarre but it is all in the name of fun. :D

Cameras having more moving parts are the toughest to work with. You will have to make sure the moving parts are ermmm … still moving after you finish the ‘dressing up’.

It doesn’t always require an extensive ‘dressing up’ to make your camera unique. Just some simple stickers can also do the trick too.

Have fun!

    Thanks, everyone.

@leendabob : So far I've tried UHU glue and also those 'super glue' that are available almost anywhere. You should always try on a little part of the cam (best is the bottom of the cam) to see if the material/item sticks well. Some glue are too strong and seem to 'eat into' the plastic. Sorry I ain't good at tech terms ... so hope you get what I mean. :D
