During the First World War, my region, the Pas-de-Calais was the place of many battles. In Vimy (my city), on April 1917, a great offensive was launched by Canadian Corps, the battle was terrible and many soldiers were killed there, but the Canadian succeeded in taking the ridge of Vimy to the Germans.

When Remy Callot died in 2001, his house was intended for destruction to build a traffic circle. But Remy Callot had spent his retirement to decorate his garden's walls with mosaic. So, in 2006, "the house of the fool" as it was called, was finally destroyed but walls were preserved and now, instead of a roundabout, it is question to build a museum of Art Brut. I truly hope it will!
