Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay presents BayBeats 2005, the popular three-day outdoor music festival from 15 – 17 July, that returns to Esplanade for the fourth time. Featuring international, regional and local, alternative and indie music bands, this sonic feast is presented free! The whole weekend of madness was finally over and there were more than 20 local and foreign bands performed 'live' with huge turn-out crowds. There are 2 performing stages - Chill Out Stage (Outdoor Theater) & The Arena (Stage @ Powerhouse). The Village (Canopy) is the place where fans can get their favorite bands' merchandises and albums and stuff. Fans are able to catch their favourite acts appear for an up-close and personal time of sharing their music, views and thoughts. Well in fact most of them weren't there. Hah! I've attended the event every year since 2002 and I took part once in 2003 with my former band, Hearing Hill. I've took a few pictures before when I started out with Lomography and now I've been more serious into Photography, I wouldn't want to miss this opportunity to do some "proper" Music Photography. This year, I've focused only on certain rock bands I'm interested in and they are ZHEN, Kate of Kale, Death of Cinema, Concave Scream, Furniture, I Am Daivd Sparkle (Singapore) and Brand New Sunset (Thailand). I missed out on Lunarin - a local 3-piece alternate garage rock band. I've managed to get about 20 decent shots of ZHEN & Kate of Kale becuz they were performing in the late afternoon and evening time where lighting is still acceptable and bright enuff. As for the rest, they were performing in the night time so exposure wise were really challenging. Well it was a precious and challenging photographic experience for me and I'll do it better next year. So here are the 20 shots for yr viewing pleasure. Enjoy. Oh yes! As usual all comments ar
