    Meet our LomoGuru: Ropi

Our latest LomoGuru is a portrait photographer from Rosario, Argentina who's also passionate about bookbinding and lettering. She took an active interest in these creative outlets to balance out the rigidness of her engineering classes. Let's get to know our fellow lomographer, Rocío Méndez, in this interview.

  • Glaciar Perito Moreno - Santa Cruz

    shared by ropi on 2015-05-29

As you may know, the Glaciar Perito Moreno is one of the most important turistic places of Argentina, and now that I've been there, I can imagine why. It's an amazing place, that let you breathless and speachless. It's so magnificent!!! These pics were taken during the boat tour, which I TOTALLY recommend. The most amazing thing of this place is, that as you know, once every 4 years there's a "falling" of one of the ice bridges. So when you are there, despite the bridge is not there yet, you hear a lot of "cracking" noises coming from the glaciar, and you try to find where it comes from, but it's usually too late!

  • El Calafate

The nearest city to the Glaciar is El Calafate. This pic is from it's lake, "Lago Argentino", and I was lucky enough to have an amazing weather and catch a moment like this one. :)

One of the musts is the trip through the Beagle canal. The final point of this trip is the penguin island, where usually you cn see like a thousand penguins or more, but sadly I went on the time of the year when emigrate to warmer places. The lighthouse is known as "WORLD'S END LIGHTHOUSE". You might have heard of Jules Verne's book with the same name ;)

We were really lucky of having at least one day with such an amazing weather. Regular weather in Ushuaia is cloudy and windy, so it'd be impossible to see boat's reflection on the Beagle's water as you can see in these pics

Lomography Singapore and Parallel Planets Present: 'Façades: Neo-Noir Portraits Exhibition'

Lomography Singapore plays host to Parallel Planets’ first exhibition, "Façades: Neo-Noir Portraits Exhibition," featuring all-analog photography: a sea of black and white film portraits. This exhibition serves as a platform where both local and international photographers can express themselves by injecting individual perspectives into their craft. It also encourages viewers to look through the lens of the photographers, to see the subjects as who they are – flawed, alive, and breathing – and to also see beyond the façades we all choose to don.
