Shooting just for fun

When I was a child I started taking pictures with a Kodak Instamatic-25. About three months ago I found one of those in a second hand store (in fact a kind of memorabilia junkyard) called El Desván de Javi in the San Andrés Street of A Coruña. It costed me just 10 peeled Euros. The owner of the shop has no idea about photography items, you must check every detail or you'll carry a lens infected with fungus but well paid under the sell as is method. A method just profitable for the owner of the shop. Anyway you can attempt there a lucky strike.
Sometimes I love just to point and shot. Just taking a look, no study of the situation, no furthers impressions. Just shot improvised at the moment you feel you must do it. Of course, The Instamatics were produced to work with the original one perforation film into the 126 cartridges. They never works fine with a cartridge reloaded with the current 35 mm fim. I've experienced other marks as Agfa can perform better than de Kodak's with multi-perforated 35 mm film. I keep the band of paper. It helps the Kodaks to find the film register hole, but you loose about six expositions at the end and you still got a tail for about four not protected expositions. For these last ones not forget to seal the rear window.

It's really a pity that the Lomomgraphic Society doesn't want to produce back the 126 cartridges. 110 is back but not 126. Lot of us we got nice 126 cartidge cameras. There is SLR cameras for this format, not rare to found. The Instamatic 500 equiped with a Synchro-Compur shutter, got all the manual controls you could need there. And the format is not really worst than the universal 135 mm films. I can't understand why Lomography cannot see a market for these cartridges. Anyway we can still pay more than 15 € for an original expired 126 cartridge on eBay. Yeah!
