When Lomography becomes Photography

Photographic progress. Described as "[a] tasty slice of fish-eye goodness". Proof to all those who doubted lomography

Some people out there just don’t get it. You bring over your lomo for the first time, practically bouncing through the roof with excitement, and you get responses like this:

“Just a gimmick.”
“Not real photography”

“Oh my god why would you waste your hard earned money like that”.

Well, at least thats what happened in my life. But I’m too stubborn and too proud, and was far too inlove with my new cameras to toss them aside due to public opinion…

Soon, they even traveled the world with me. Painstakingly being checked and scanned at terminals in Africa, Dubai, Germany and Spain. And when I came home, all my memories came with me packed in neat little boxes; also known as picture frames.

Soon, all my pictures ended up on the internet for all my friends and family on the various social networks to see and admire.

Suddenly, there was fantastic feedback and even DAILY DEVIANT selections (this one right here, in fact)

I live in the middle of the atlantic ocean in the Azores islands and here film photography is dead! I havent meet one single person with an analogue camera on the streets, so whenever i go out with my Holga/Recesky/Robot camera etc i normaly get a few laughs and jokes about it. I dont care and actually just gives me a boost to make something. To my great pleasure i did a exposition last year with all photos taken with a Recesky! Some people enjoyed it a lot, some didnt understand at all that kind of photography like i had some kind of mental problem! After 6 months i still get some ocasional positive feedback about those dreamy like photos! While im here on this god-forsaken island i think its my duty to spread the Lomo love the best i can! Keep up the good work mate!
