my first rolls of film with the la sardina camera.
a couple of weeks ago i won a la sardina camera – woohooo! :) and i couldn’t wait to shoot with this cute-looking camera.
for my first test i used a roll of dm paradies 200 film and shot just various things outdoors. i also took some pictures indoors to try the flash – fritz the blitz. when i got the negatives back from the lab, i was very disappointed. only 6 of the pictures were exposed! i figured that i might have forgotten to set the lens to “shooting mode” a couple of times, but i was quite sure that i didn’t forget it 18 times. i almost feared, that my camera was broken.
nevertheless i tried a second roll of film – color slide x-pro 200. i was in the countryside on a beautiful sunny day and shot most of the film at the snowy scenery. i also made sure, that i set the lens to shooting mode absolutely every time. luckily this time every picture was exposed when i got the negatives back from the lab, so my camera does work properly.
i think my mistake with the first roll of film was, that i did turn the lens into shooting mode, but not all the way. you can hear/feel a little “click”, when the lens is in the right position, but you really have to pay attention. at least i know that i have to keep an eye on that in the future.
aside from that i really like the camera, the wide angle lens is great. the fritz the blitz flash is also doing a great job, although i wished it would work with regular batteries and not those expensive ones.
now that’s enough words, let’s have a look at some pictures:
