It was the winter of 2007. My older sister came to Budapest to visit, as she’s been living in Vienna for 7 years now. She went to WU (wirtschaftsuniversität) and met with a boy and blabla, you know how it goes. She stayed there.
So, when she came to visit, she showed me a very nice note book, that she bought in her university, when “some people advertised some strange little cameras”. She told me the whole story of a bunch of students from the early 90s, how they started their business with an old soviet camera.
I loved the notebook. Until my sister went back, I looked the pictures over and over again, and I decided, I will have my very own Lomo LC-A camera.
Spring came, and I still didn’t do anything about getting a camera. I checked out the website, I found shops in Hungary who sold them, but I never had the money to buy one.
Some say, when you wish really hard, your wish would come true. Well, this is what happened to me.
In March 2008, we found each other.
My aunt moved from her flat, and I helped her to pack. She had a lot of old stuff in the basement, and she told me that I can check them out, and if I like something, I’m free to take it.
And, yes, you guessed it right! There was a camera, an LC-A in the basement! I couldn’t believe my eyes, and I was so happy that day, I can’t even tell.
From that on, we can’t be separated. I’m taking it everywhere I go, even if its not loaded:) I found lomolove, and it will last forever!
I hope you enjoyed the story of how I met with LC-A. :)
