The Things
 We
Like To See by Cai.ro

We
 spend
a
lot
of
time
 wandering
around
and
looking
 at
things:
 Before
shows,
 after
shows,
on
the
 way
to
 shows,
 at
 rehearsals...etc. Come
to
think
of
it,
 being
in
a
 band
 is
really
all
about
 waiting
and
searching
 for
 ways
to
 kill
 time.
 We
decided
that
 we
 would
 do
 this
 with
 a
camera
in
hand
and
 let
you
see
the
things
that
catch
our
 eye.

Cai.ro
's Journal from
NXNE
 2012

We
 were
lucky
 enough
to
 go
from
 not
being
 accepted
 to
 NXNE
2011
 to
being
 booked
 for
 4
 shows
in
NXNE
2012.
 We
 were
more
than
 ecstatic
to
 be
involved
in
 the
 festival
because
we
 spent
 the
last
 year
 working
 towards
 getting
 into
 it.
 We
spent
 5
 days
 playing,
 wandering,
learning,
 networking
and
 generally
having
a
 blast.

 Here
 are
some
 photos
 to
 show
you
 our
take
on
how
 things
 went
down.

Listening to La Sardina Sounds with LomoAmigo Cai.ro

One of the most head-turning orchestral pop bands from Canada, Cai.ro has been on a steady rise in the indie music scene since 2011. Their band was described as a “must-see” in Toronto’s 2011 Indie Week. Lomography Canada got the chance to meet Dante Berardi, the guitarist and the vocalist of the band, and he shared his desire to document his concerts with the La Sardina camera during their performances at the North by North East with us!

Canada Day 2012 – Through the Lens(es) of a Born and Bred Calgarian

Canada Day, celebrated on July 1st, marks the anniversary of the Constitution Act of 1867, which united three British colonies into one country. The start of the summer season is a great time to celebrate national pride.

Discovering the Hidden Treasures of Victoria's Chinatown

Victoria's Chinatown district is a mix of old traditions and new style. Every visit uncovers new hidden secrets, secrets only a Lomography camera can capture. Read on to find out what I found one Sunday afternoon in June!

A Day in the Life of Charlee the Cat

The majority of my photos consist of my cat Charlee. She is a Himalayan-Tabby mix and is occasionally mistaken for a mountain lion or a lynx. I've always admired the life of a cat... I think I've just about figured out her daily routine, somewhat.

Basking in the Sun at Parlee Beach, New Brunswick

I had heard about this beautiful beach for awhile. Sandy beaches are hard to come by in this part of the world so if the opportunity arrises that it is a warm sunny day and you're in the area, I highly recommend heading to this gorgeous little beach in eastern Canada!

Basking at the Beach in Hunt's Point Nova Scotia

Last September my boyfriend and I headed south to Hunt's Point, a place he had stayed in many times with family but that I had never been to. He described it to me as the place that he is the most peaceful. After being there a few days, I sure knew exactly what he was talking about.

The Fashion Collective Invades Lomography Canada!

We had the great pleasure of meeting Brian Richards and Mel Ashcroft of the Fashion Collective earlier this year and they've become super fans of Lomography! We thought that it was only fitting to have them come into the LGS Toronto for a special workshop hosted by Lomography Canada. Brian and Mel brought along fashion designer Sid Neigum to join the fun. Read on to see what went down!

Analogue Alberta's First Event

A Love that Sparked Another Love

I was previously a die-hard fan of digital cameras but was introduced to the world of analogue photography earlier this year, and I've loved it ever since!
