We spend a lot of time wandering around and looking at things: Before shows, after shows, on the way to shows, at rehearsals...etc. Come to think of it, being in a band is really all about waiting and searching for ways to kill time. We decided that we would do this with a camera in hand and let you see the things that catch our eye.
We were lucky enough to go from not being accepted to NXNE 2011 to being booked for 4 shows in NXNE 2012. We were more than ecstatic to be involved in the festival because we spent the last year working towards getting into it. We spent 5 days playing, wandering, learning, networking and generally having a blast. Here are some photos to show you our take on how things went down.
One of the most head-turning orchestral pop bands from Canada, Cai.ro has been on a steady rise in the indie music scene since 2011. Their band was described as a “must-see” in Toronto’s 2011 Indie Week. Lomography Canada got the chance to meet Dante Berardi, the guitarist and the vocalist of the band, and he shared his desire to document his concerts with the La Sardina camera during their performances at the North by North East with us!

The majority of my photos consist of my cat Charlee. She is a Himalayan-Tabby mix and is occasionally mistaken for a mountain lion or a lynx. I've always admired the life of a cat... I think I've just about figured out her daily routine, somewhat.
I had heard about this beautiful beach for awhile. Sandy beaches are hard to come by in this part of the world so if the opportunity arrises that it is a warm sunny day and you're in the area, I highly recommend heading to this gorgeous little beach in eastern Canada!
Last September my boyfriend and I headed south to Hunt's Point, a place he had stayed in many times with family but that I had never been to. He described it to me as the place that he is the most peaceful. After being there a few days, I sure knew exactly what he was talking about.
Eight enthusiastic lomographers from Calgary, Red Deer, Sherwood Park, and Edmonton came out for the first Alberta Lomo Meet organized by Analogue Alberta. Meet them and take a look at some of their photos from the walk after the jump!
We had the great pleasure of meeting Brian Richards and Mel Ashcroft of the Fashion Collective earlier this year and they've become super fans of Lomography! We thought that it was only fitting to have them come into the LGS Toronto for a special workshop hosted by Lomography Canada. Brian and Mel brought along fashion designer Sid Neigum to join the fun. Read on to see what went down!
I was previously a die-hard fan of digital cameras but was introduced to the world of analogue photography earlier this year, and I've loved it ever since!
