A Puzzle for Monkey's and the Dead by Jonathan Polkest
Beneath the tall Monkey Puzzle tree in the lower section of St.Clare Cemetrey my Great Great Grandmother Jane Pearce of the Isles of Scilly lies. It is only in the more recent years that the administration of the Islands, land tennancy, civil and criminal justice as well as education and services have become less opaque. The Islands have been leased via the Duchy of Cornwall and sub tennented to other autonomous parties consequently the fate of many Islanders deemed "superfluous", occupying houses that could be rented out, widows, retired folk, people without immediet family support, these people became victimized or accused of crimes and deported. Anyone not handing in driftwood was receiving stolen goods etc Now the Rooks are seen nesting in the Monkey Puzzle tree, itself probably grown from a flotsam seed or something carried in a sailors Dunnage
Taken by jaypolkest with an Olympus RD 35 loaded with Ilford XP2 (35mm 400 iso) film in Penzance, United Kingdom. These tags describe this photo: jonathan polkest, jane pearce from the isles of scilly, and polkeast. This photo can also be found in the album Gwenhadhu by Jonathan Polkest.
