The Voice of God by Jonathan Polkest

The voice in your ear maybe the voice of God or it could be the mythically burrowing pagan messenger, the Earwig, a name derived from WICGA "insect" to wiggle and ultimately to other words implying movement, including Way and Vehicle. DERMAPTERA (Earwigs) are characterized by membranous wings folded beneath short leathery forewings, hence the literal name "skin wings" of the order, the abdomen extends way beyond the folded wingspan ending in a pair of forceps, flight capability in dermaptera is varied as earwigs that have wings, the hind wings are are folded in a complex fashion which tends to make Earwigs think hard about using their special powers and only the most urgent emergency forces them to unfold the wing cases since they are so very complex.
