Pedn-an-Drea Mine Stack

Pedn-an-Drea Mine chimney stack seen through the window of the shop where as a first year student cigarettes could be individually purchased as if it were as common as breathing gods air,The survival of the telescopic style of chimney is important as it represents a Cornish design that was once commonplace.Initially the stack stood at a height of 42M but the engine it served only worked for three years before becoming the landmark you see today from the Clinton Road and from the Great Western Railway route through Redruth as it passes over the Trewirgie Viaduct to London or to Penzance.
