Giles was from Letchfield, is there such a place? he was and still may be an accomplished but not a forward sort of player very lyrical which complimented Rods voice, as I mentioned. At Eastfield Farm I heard some seminal music for the very first time on vynil records. I stayed at the farmhouse and fixed up some of the building but I was'nt as effective in those distant days, at practical matters leastways, Rod and Giles worked for Danforth Builders which was a building company owned by John Rainforth, I worked there with the guys and I met some extraordinary characters not all of them particularly pleasant. One evening I met an old gentleman called Mr Shutter who lived in Ilminster and knew everything as far as I knew, He was very informed but not a bore...I met him raking around the oversites on the building plots he told me that he thought that travel was the best education and that if he had had a son ,he would encourage the lad to be a lorry drivers mate for a spell....they were different days.
