Montage is a word which today replaces the former term "composition", To compose (to put with) also means to mount, to put together,; to create the play (of dramaturgy). Composition is, in this sense, a new synthesis of materials and fragments taken out of their original contexts.It is a synthesis which is equivalent to the phenomena and to the real relationships which it suggest or represents. It is also a dilation equivalent to the way in which a performer isolates and fives certain physiological processes or certain behaviour patterns as if putting them under a magnifying glass and making his body a dilated body.
