Anonyme Zeichner by Jonathan Polkest

Anonyme Zeichner by Jonathan Polkest

There is a painting by Martin Kippenberger made in 1980, showing the artist looking quite relaxed wearing a suit, sitting on a sofa, appearing oblivious or without concerns that the sofa he's sitting on has been dumped, it is garbage left on a street corner. The painting is from a series by Kippenberger called DEAR PAINTER,PAINT FOR ME , Kippenberger supplied photographs and paid a signwriter to produce the photorealist paintings. The artist, elegantly poised amid the rubbish!, In 1990 Kippenberger got his assistant Merlin Carpenter to make a series of [paintings, afterwhich Kippenberger dumped the work in a fabricated skip and called it Art before destroying it all. This was his idea of quality control,"I'm not an easel kisser" he once said, again, what this means now is not terribly clear../.
