Art of the Government by Jon Polkest
In Greek mythology it was Theseus , like Daedalus a type of solar sailer who came from Athens, one of the human sacrifices offered to the Minotaur as part of a yearly tribute. In the light of recent evidence for human sacrifice discovered on Crete, not all agree on the rosy view of Minoan life once projected by Sir Arthur Evans. Human sacrifices and ritual involved, as Joseph Campbell has repeatedly shown, are all connected with traditions of Neolithic grain agriculture, since in rituals relatred to the hunt, the death of the game, the quarry itself constitutes the sacrifice.Professor Campbell retells all in a chilling account originally recorded by Paul Wirz, Swiss Ethnologist who records details of one such ritual that survived down to modern times only because of the extreme remoteness of its practitioners, the Marind-anim tribes of the former Dutch New Guinea; IRIAN JAYA
