It is said that ARIADNE provided Theseus with two secret and sacred elements which he was able to solve the magical riddle of the Labyrinth and prevail over the Minotaur.Most traditional accounts omit a mention of vthe peerage of ICARUS , or explain the improsonment of Daedalus in the towere as punishment for his having suggested to Ariadne the use of the ball of twine (the clew) in order to penetrate the Labyrinth and be able to find ones way back, in my work the use of yarns or twine touches on this similar concept that something as obscure or pragmatic as a ball of twine can represent an image that his been unpicked from the bvias and is stored as a ball of twine, to reverse a recording of the artist sewing the image is to witness the image returning to the ball of twine. Ariadne would have no poetic right to the clew unless it had come from or had been twined of her own hair or that of her mother Pasiphae. Unwinding the clew of twine is a reasonable process when exploring dark spaces but there would be less use for the yarn or twine if the labyrinth has only one path, we assume there are many options
