shared by neanderthalis on 2013-07-26There is a pool half way through the trail that kids like to slide into the waters. I would never do it because most streams in hawaii can carry a harmful infection if have a cut. But they are still beautiful to photograph.

shared by neanderthalis on 2013-07-19The advantage of pinholes is that all you need is patience. I took my Canon AE-1 into this tropical arboretum before and had a difficult time because of the low light. The light meter required a super open aperture and slow shutter speed. With pinholes all you need to do set it on the tripod and wait. Some shots took 4 minutes. I just set the shutter lock and walked away looking for my next shot. A timer was essential.

shared by alexandra_krolikowski on 2013-05-02One of greatest secrets of human's life - it's of twins. United genetically and spiritually, they have different soul and personality. One DNA, but two bodies. These photos - the story of two sisters - twins. Freed from the covers of clothing, they are free to do anything in the dark room...

shared by alexander_krolikowski on 2013-04-21One hot summer day, I and Alexandra were go to famous nudist beach on cape Fiolent (this tatarian word means "Tigers cape") near Sevastopol. One old man said to us - "I know better point for shoot", and showed little rock riff. I put my Mini Diana in plastic bag for protection from waves. And we was walking across seawater to riff, where shot this pictures. If you be in Sevastopol - ask me and I show to you this beautiful place!

shared by bcartwright on 2010-10-15I finally invested some time in shooting a toy camera portrait series that included nudes. I am damn happy with how they turned out. Tori was awesome and definitely compensated for my occasionally inane instructions. I asked her to frolic in a miniskirt and a business-casual jacket. Thank God she let me know just how stupid that idea was. It could have shot the whole series. Fun stuff here with the shadows of the lace and barbed wire. Also, the shallow depth of focus makes the trees in the background look down right creepy. My favorites are the final one in the series and the shot where she is looking at her own photo. I don't usually provide links or info in my descriptions but she's Model Mayhem ID #633806 and is open and receptive to toy cameras. Message her and give her lots of work!

shared by bcartwright on 2011-01-24Better than the slide shots? Yes. Gonna write home about it? Not really. I was trying to evoke motion in these images. I wanted it to appear as if the model was moving slowly toward the camera and I should have planned it better. Maybe a different outfit? Something she could have thrown to the ground more easily. Maybe starting further back and shoot the entire thing while she is literally walking? Who knows. Live and learn. Biggest lesson? No more Wide and Slim for nudes.

shared by bcartwright on 2011-05-21I love, love, love Lomo's Redscale film. I really do. I wanted to do a set with JoAnn that would highlight this versatile and extraordinary medium and all that it can do in the realm of glamour and nude portraiture. So I fed it lots of reds, yellows and greens at golden hour and couldn't be happier with the results. I got the playful, warm happy vibe I want from my portraiture and it was definitely in part due to this rad film.
