The Olympus XA4, last but certainly not least in the XA family of cameras, is an all-around fantastic point-and-shoot camera with macro capabilities. How about them apples?

The Zenit E with the standard Helios lens lives up to it's reputation as not only a great camera, but also a technical nightmare.

Darks as black as the strongest coffee and whites as bright as new fallen snow. I used the 35mm version of Ilford Pan F+, ISO 50 and achieved the greatest contrast ever! This is one film that delivers very true blacks and whites.

Built like a tank (and weighing almost as much), the Kiev 88 takes amazing pictures! Compared to other medium format cameras of it's class, it's inexpensive and yields crisp, clear pictures, much like the camera it was modeled after--the Hassleblad.

In these tough economic times it can be hard to part with your cash, even in support of your photography addiction. If you're longing for an LC-A but just can't scrape together the money, try an Olympus XA2, often called the 'Poor Man's LC-A"

Travel down Route 1 south in Delaware and you'll see lots of crazy stuff: the UFO building at Eagle's Nest Airport, a tractor museum, an enormous propeller in front of a restaurant (which I hope to photograph in the future), 30ft. plastic neon-colored palm trees strung with blinky lights. None is as crazy, or inviting on a summer day, than Jungle Jim's .

I've started developing my own black & white film lately and am still getting the hang of loading it onto the reels correctly. The first few rolls were disastrous but I've gotten better since and have even gotten some cool effects from my mistakes.

Vivitar made the Ultra Wide and Slim just like we Lomographers like things - cheap, plastic and full of vignetting.

If you want a truly lo-fi, analogue, old-fashioned vacation take a trip to a little seaside town about 45 minutes northeast of Boston, MA called Nahant--which means 'almost an island'. It truly lives up to it's name as it's connected to the 'mainland' by a causeway that was built-up to accommodate a road. This lovely 1.2 square mile town is worlds away from the hustle-and-bustle of the big city of Boston that is visible just across the Bay on a clear day.

For some old-timey graininess check out this import from Croatia! Big grains, hazy look but decent contrast. Really an inexpensive way to get some grain in your life.
