Comparing Lomo LC-A 2003 and Lomo LC-A+RL 2013

As mentioned in my last blog post, I compared my two LC-As with each other. Here is the result.

First I tried a still life. I put the camera on a tripod and measured the distance between the scene and the camera for correct focusing.

If you look on the left part of the picture, you might see that the LC-A+ picture is slightly blurred, compared to the one of the LC-A.

I tried it also outside to check if it is an issue with too less light.

From my point of view, it is the same result, blurred on the left side of the picture.

You might say, come on, this is Lomo, forget about sharpness. Yes, correct, however, I sometimes do like sharp pictures and I like purposly playing with sharpness. With such a lens, this is not that easy. That’s why I’m complaining.

I have a LC-A+ purchased in late 2012 with the same issue, slight blurring on the bottom left side of each frame. My daughter has a LC-A+RL purchased in early 2013 with no problem.
