Nyoman Nuarta's 3 Mojang sculpture

Nyoman Nuarta's 3 Mojang sculpture

This is the sculpture of one of Indonesian famous sculpture artist, Nyoman Nuarta, which named 3 (tiga (Indonesia) = three (English) Mojang (Sundanese word for GIRL). 3 Mojang was build at one of real estate in Bekasi, West Java, Indonesia, South East Asia. But protested by local organization who thought that the sculpture is too vulgar/porn and also not suitable with local culture, because they think Bekasi which part of West Java, the province which dominated by Sundanese, is not belong to Sundanese tradition but more close with Betawinese culture. So they broke the sculpture and there's nothing policeman can do. Nyoman Nuarta, Balinese who also made some famous sculpture such as Garuda Wisnu Kencana in his hometown in Bali, remove his 3 Mojang sculpture to his almamater, ITB (Institut Teknologi Bandung or Bandung Institute of Technology) when they held Pasar Seni (Art Market) 10.10.10 or October 10th, 2010. My personal opinion, this is his genius protest to so called "defender of the universe gank" who use violence, without using violence back.

The struggle of art against the established traditions was never easy. In medieval Europe they had the heretics burned alive by the Church....

@adash : Thank you very much for like & comment =D Yes, stupid & irrational Indonesian people who think they're clever, stronger & have power always use violence to stop art which their unknown nothing brain thought that nude/sensual art subject are sin & should be vanished by violence T-T
