Venezia is well known for its picturesque canals, charmingly coloured houses and blue-green waters - all highlighted lovingly by the golden rays of summer sun. However, for my first ever trip to this amazing city, I wanted to show another part of its beauty: its cinematic nights wrapped in tones of amber lights; its familiar faces going about their daily lives.
The yearly Venetian Carnival was on during the weekend of my trip, and the city was filled with residents in colorful masks and gowns; gracefully wandering the narrow passages, all elegant and mystic. All the while, excited faces from all around the world filled the streets, their cameras capturing every inch of the city's beauty.
In the winter Venice was covered in a layer of fog, subduing its colours to gentleness and adding a charming mystery to its beauty. The quiet scenes of its winding canals brought forward poised stillness, as if the city was straightening its posture and taking a deep breath, before softly singing a delicate aria in honour of its waters' beauty.

One thing that I never have thought before was how multicultural the city is; within the short trip I met residents coming from various parts of Italy, the UK, Ireland, Mongolia, America, Bangladesh, Poland, and Costa Rica; all embracing the simple lifestyle of the beautiful city.
