Ceaușescu palace
A demolished old town, 40000 resettled people, 20000 workers and soldiers (there are stories about dead bodies in the building as well), build on a area of appr. 65000 square meters, 86m high, 92m deep, 3500 tonnes of crystal, 700000 tonnes of steel and bronze, 900,000 cubic meters of wood -- and still not finished. This building is a monster and it may be the 2nd biggest building worldwide -- a dictator's project and founded on peoples pain, it eaten up to 40% of the national product.
