Why every Lomographer should use a Photoscanner

Today a scanner with transparency unit should be part of a Lomographer's standard equipment like the Lomo LC-A and a fridge full of films is.

    shared by deepfried_goodness on 2013-05-24

Having fun with friends in the backyard on May 2-4. When my wife and I started hosting our nearly-annual Victoria Day Weekend barbecues here at the house, there were only 3 children in attendance. Last weekend, there were 12, and two couldn't make it. How times change.

This is my submission for the Capture the Moment Competition. It's 13 minutes past 7am when I tend to get out of bed. I had set up the camera on a tripod with my longer cable release the night before and set my alarm for 7am. That would give me enough time to realize what I had to do and open the curtains a bit to let in the light. I don't like waking up.

Doubles with Flowers : The Easiest Way To Make A Great Film Swap Lomograph

Using flowers as a layer for multiple exposures is very fun and unpredictable. What about if we use it as a layer for film-swapping? It gets double-fun and double-unpredictable, of course!

  • Where I met Muhammad

    shared by artichekt on 2013-05-13

Muhammad is a bus driver, that day he had service on a bus line near the place I work. At a certain point he told his passengers that he would make a spontaneous detour - and he knows that everybody is in a hurry, but it will be worth 5 minutes of their lifetime. Nobody complained, and Muhammad steered his vehicle on a small road just wide enough for this huge bus. He stopped right beside the endless colourful fields of a tulip farm that are out of sight from the main highway, opened the doors and asked his passengers „Now look at this splendour – have you ever seen such a beauty?“ All imaginable colours from different shades of white to yellow, orange, red, pink, purple up to almost black in broad an narrow stripes loosing themselves behind the horizon creating a spectecular scenery. I was taking some photos there when Muhammad stopped his bus right beside me. We had a quick chat, he told me what he could tell me in 3 minutes, he asked me if I could take a photo of him that he could send to his family in Afghanistan... and there were tears running down his cheeks when he smiled at me while pointing out to the tulips saying „These are the things that make life worth living.“ Then he jumped on his bus, started the Diesel engine and took his passengers back to their reality. In my scope of work I have to deal with lots of people earning 1.000.000 Euros and more per year as a CEO, COO, CSPO, CEM, COB, CBDO or some similar crap like that building homes that cost several millions of Euros. For themselves and their families. I learned to reject requests from these people calling themselves „businessman“ who cause me a certain disgust – because it’s them that make this world go out of balance. My deepest respect for Muhammad, my personal hero of the day. I wish there would be more of his kind.
