One body, two lenses. Camera designed by me to have more fun with mixed doubles.

The idea of designing such a camera was inspired by my irresistible desire to make controlled doubles in real time as we do multi-exposures shots. And saying doubles I mean shots mixing usual exposure with redscale one.
More over, I tried a lot of times before with usual cameras to match two exposures of a future double shot using masks placed directly in front of the film. But I didn’t manage to match to images precisely because of inaccuracy of the camera rewind system. Images shifted leaving black “shadows” or even holes of used masks. Sometimes it looked good, but usually not.

So I took Smena-8m as a base to create a camera having two lenses from both sides of the film.
As the result I got camera letting me make usual and redscale shots each after each or mix them having at least general idea what I’ll get.

Also I can match masks more precise now.

Circles.

Triangles.

And finally Smena-Siam itself.

I believe that such a “siam” camera could be built on the basis of other film cameras. The matter depends only on your head-piece =)
