I know 2013 was going to be 'the year in which I will not buy a camera.' But I could not resist this one. It is a solid piece of metal,it works and I payed 63 euros including shipment from Russia, with love. Yesterday I shot my first roll and I already know I am going to use this camera a lot.
It was made between 1947 and 1956 by KMZ in Krasnogorsk and based upon the Zeiss Super Ikonta. Some sources say that machines from the Zeiss factory were moved to Russia after the war and they were actually used to build this camera. It’s also said that some prototypes had Compur shutters. Well, mine has a perfect working Moment shutter and an 110mm Industar-23 lens. This is a real good camera, the shutter speeds are accurate, even the slow ones ! and the rangefinder is accurate too !!
It has a double exposure lock to prevent you from accidental doubles. Luckily the system is fooled easily.

I took the camera out to do some nightshots. It has a cable release and the camera is a bit heavy so it was not shaking on my tripod, it was windy yesterday. This is a seven minutes exposure at f/8

Now I used the camera a bit more: this one stays in my bag, always loaded. When folded, it takes no place, it is sturdy and when unfolded it shoots real nice pics.
