Some beautiful photos do not get noticed.

I saw a beautiful picture. I thought it would have a lot of likes, but it hadn't. So I will share it with you !

So I was browsing Schlogoat’s home and I saw this pic I really liked. And I was the first one to like it. I like the colour, the tone, the softness, the composition. Basically, I like it !

I have found another one which I really like. this pic is amazing I think !

I have some pics in my own home which I like a lot, but no one else seems to like. I see three reasons.

1. My pic sucks and I don’t see it
2. At the rate I shoot it is difficult to pay attention to every pic I publish here
3. Some pics are hidden somewhere in 3000 pics. When I look at my own pictures, I see 10 good pictures and a hundred I like. But I decided to publish all of my pics instead of only the good ones. So I am stuck with a few thousand mediocre pics. But hell, whatever…

Given that there are thousands of photos uploaded everyday, I suppose its pretty understandable for many good photos to fall through the net! Thanks for sharing the shot - we wouldn't have seen it otherwise :)

...and what is even more frustrating, when one of my pics that i don't like so much gets lots of lomolove, while another one in the same album that i think is much better gets much less.
Is there no fairness in the world :)??

@nostalgina I know the feeling but the viewer decides :). When I reach 3000 pics I make a 'my own favorites album'

Indeed, a fine shot by @schlogoat Gauthier, I know what you mean, and I love to be the first to come across a beautiful photo that no one else seems to have noticed. A great example is this whole album of gorgeous shots by @annielibert I found some months ago: http://www.lomograph(…)g-in-russia At the time, I was the only person to have visited it, and only very few people have visited since, so I'd encourage you to show it some love too. Unfortunately, she doesn't appear to be very active in this community, which is a great shame because her shots are really wonderful.

for me it's the same gauthier. Je pense peut etre a faire un lomohome avec que mes photo préférée mais je ne sais pas. je voulais le faire sur flickr mais c long de choisir; meme dans mes images bof, je trouve parfois une touche que j'aime que je vx garder. enfin. ici cest lomo. des photos que tu trouves bofs, certains peuvent les trouver géniales. c'est assez aléatoires d'avoir des milliers de likes. c'est dur. je pense qu'il faut etre très actifs ici, blog, articles, competitions... comment etre lomohome of the day par exemple? ils choisissent as tjs des tres bon lomohome. ou new entry of the day!... bref. cest aleatoire. peut etre que si tu achetes toutes les cameras de chez lomo, peut etre qu'ils te mettront en avant? je sais pas..... bon courage mon ami. keep shooting and like my pics! I'll do the same. let's be solidaire my friend! cheers gros.

@buckshot you are right about the Russia album. I love X Pro images, and those are some really cool photos. I've just found a good send away film processing lab that seem to the X Pro stuff just how I like them. So I'm definitely going to shoot some more on my Lomo LC A! :-)

@nostalgina I totally get that. I have one photo that I think is just-okay that's in my Most Popular photos, and I think "Why is THAT one there out of the ones in that album?" I think part of it is like the Broken Windows effect: when a photo is in your popular page, it tends to stay there, as it's the first place people look when they want to see your photos.

As for the main article, I sometimes worry that some of my older Lomographs don't get as much love as my new ones, as I'm much more community-actiive than I was then. Maybe a "My Favourites" album is the key.

@lokified you are totally right. The popular page gets attention and pics tend to stay there, older pics get overlooked. I made a favourites album of my older pics. It contains some good pics, some bad ones too, but they are all photos I like myself. http://www.lomograph(…)sen-at-3000
