Everybody loves the beach. I do LOVE beach. From time to time, I make myself on going to a beach and spend a night or two.
Somehow around the early 2009, with my little buddy Alek — a Lomo LC-A camera — whom I brought together with my new found friends, managed to talked about Sicogon Island and how to get there. I was a little bit excited, of course.

We planned by around 6 in the morning, we’ll be meeting in a decent spot just in the heart of Jaro, Iloilo. The next day, I find myself going towards that spot and waiting for them. I took a smoke of two while waiting (I was too early by 5:30 in the morning). They came by around like 6:10 and I hopped in the van and off we went. I was excited, yes. Who would not? My LC-A that time was eating an Agfa CT Precisa 100 film. I told myself I might be getting wonderful beach pictures.
We arrived in a very long 2.5 hours to our destination. Of course, we have to ride a big bangka (boat) to reach Sicogon Island. It has been famed that this island was where Gloria Diaz (Miss Universe 1969) shoot their film called Ang Pinakamagandang Hayop sa Balat ng Lupa (The Most Beautiful Animal in the World) in 1974. Since it was really a Virgin Island back then, it was a great place for the director himself, Celso Ad. Castillo to locate the film in such a wonderful island.

Anyway, back to our trip, all were excited but it was me who was really so excited. I took pictures along the way, the islands, and with the clear water. It was really sunny that day.

Arriving on the island, there’s this old man who took us in their little place where we placed our bags and things. I went swimming together with some friends while the others did the cooking. It was a great day to just spend life in a beach. We toured together with the guide in some other beaches, too!
We went home around five in the afternoon. Great expedition.
